Diferent types of Camera batteries
The rise in popularity of photography as a hobby has been driven by the availability of affordable high quality digital cameras and video cameras; easy to use and versatile, these are powered by a variety of different battery types, and here we will look at the various camera batteries available on the market.
Firstly, it is important that you check the manufacturer details of your device to make sure that the camera batteries used are the correct ones, as using anything other than the recommended camera batteries can cause problems.

The commonest type of camera batteries are the alkaline type; non-rechargeable and available in many different sizes and brands, these make excellent camera batteries for lower powered devices – basic digital cameras and the like - and with light use can last a long time. In heavy use, however, alkaline camera batteries may give only a relatively short working life.
The second type are the nickel cadmium rechargeable camera batteries, a type that is increasingly popular and very affordable, which is used in compact cameras and the lower powered digital cameras.
